White Top Liner
Kraftliner with a white top ply — for corrugated packaging that is printed and put on a shelf rather than hidden in a warehouse.
What it is.
White top liner is a liner with a bleached surface ply. It exists because retail moved corrugated out of the back room and onto the shelf: shelf-ready trays, e-commerce outers that a customer sees, display packaging that has to carry a photographic print.
It is specified twice over. As a liner it still has to deliver burst and crush like any other. As a printing surface it has to deliver brightness, smoothness and a controlled roughness so that high-line-screen flexo or offset pre-print lands cleanly. Ask for both sets of numbers, because a liner that prints beautifully and fails a stack test is not a saving.
