What it is.
A napkin is a branded item as often as it is a hygiene item. Restaurants and chains specify fold pattern, finished size, ply, emboss and print, and those decisions are driven by the dispenser, the table setting and the brand — not by the tissue specification.
Underneath, the paper requirements are straightforward: enough dry strength that it does not tear when it is pulled from a dispenser, absorbency appropriate to the food served, and a surface that takes print cleanly if the napkin is branded.
Tell us the dispenser and the fold, because a napkin that does not feed from the customer's dispenser is scrap regardless of how good the paper is.
